Hi all Club Members
If you are interested as an individual or leading a club special activity
with any club members please read on. Time frames are tight, 2-3 weeks.
A contact in Ottawa approached me to see if anyone in our camera club would
be interested in providing photographs to be used in developing a new banner
for their organization. I volunteered to coordinate their request to see if
there was an interest.
The Council on Aging of Ottawa is a bilingual, volunteer-based charitable
organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of seniors living in
Ottawa.
A few of their mandates are; To promote the development of effective
programs and services for seniors, to influence the direction of government
policy and funding priorities and to promote public understanding and
awareness of seniors' issues. You can find more information on the group at
http://www.coaottawa.ca/home-en.html
What they need is for you to provide photographs that can be post edited
and used in a collage or if you feel really ambitious, a full photo-shopped
picture that could be used as part of their banner development. Below is an
outline of what they are looking for.
Below is an outline of basic criteria they are looking for:
* Submission of large size quality photos, PSD, TIFF or JPG to Mike
Bailey by the end of February. Photos will be used on a 30" Wide X 40" High
Banner.
* Pictures of people are to be accompanied by a release to be used
publically and not for profit.
* Pictures should include seniors of all ages, singles and couples of
various ethnic backgrounds enjoying various activities.
* Environmental locations of photographs should depict seniors
activities in any type of recreational settings the portray them enjoying
each other's company and/or life in general.
If the Council on Aging uses any pictures submitted by any member of the
Orillia Camera Club they will make a small monetary donation to the camera
club and where possible identify the names of the photographer/s.
If you are interested let me know so I can indicate interest in their quest.
If you have any questions send me an email and I will get the answers for
you.
If you could let me know by the weekend if you are at all interested I can
respond to let them know. If there is no interest I can let them know to
approach other sources.
Thanks for your consideration
Mike Bailey
