[Members] Don Komarechka's Book of snowflakes.

Hello all. Many of you enjoyed the presentation and discussion in February
with Don Komarechka Photographer and course instructor from Barrie at our
club meeting. Don showed you a few photos of his snowflake macro photography
and the wonders of what can be seen in something so tiny, soft and elegant
that on its own can disappear in seconds.  I'm sure we will have Don back at
some point with more on the art of seeing.

 

Don is running a funding campaign to produce a book on snowflakes. The book
will be 300 pages, hardcover, and detail all of the photographs and
photographic techniques, science and physics, and even some psychology (why
do we find snowflakes beautiful?). It's going be a great book, but doing a
proper offset print run is extremely expensive, to the tune of $15,000.

His  project is nearly 90% funded and he is using Indigo  to crowd-fund the
book, taking in contributions. A $35 contribution will get you a copy of the
book when it's released later this year, and there are extra perks for
higher contributions as well. He will even be producing a Limited Edition
leather-bound, embossed and gilded version of the book with extra content.

Don's project is going well, and he wants to try and keep the momentum up
well past the goal. The funds in excess of the goal will be used to make the
book bigger and better for everyone. Check out his link to watch a short

receive a copy later in the year. This might be a great item to give someone
who you never know what to buy for Christmas. 

 

Given that we have met Don and seen his photographic visions and some have
taken his courses I thought it appropriate to pass this on to you. Amazing
