[Members] April club meeting overview

Hello everyone. Just wanted to follow up on Wednesdays meeting for those of
you who were not able to attend. We had a great presentation by Lynn Holden
on travel photography and excellent pictures of her ventures overseas. Tips
from Lynn to remember are:

·        Tell a story with your pictures

·        Show a variety of subjects from each area you visit.

·        If you can take 2 bodies or 1 body and point and shoot

·        Take extra batteries and keep charged

·        Take extra memory cards

·        Think about what kind of photography you want to take

·        Cut down on weight and only take 2 lenses - wide angle and
telephoto

·        Always take lens cleaner and micro fibre cloth

·        Light clear plastic for rain cover for your camera or yourself or
your gear ie( large clear garbage bag)

·        Be prepared to shoot at high iso or take a tripod

·        A note pad

 

ü  Saturday May 25th there is a planned outing to Ed Glanert's property for
a spring flower shoot, More info to follow.

ü  Carden Nature Festival is on June 1 & 2. Excellent opportunity for
photographic opportunities and workshops. Stay tuned for more info.

ü  The executive  has discussed and approved to initiate a page on the club
website where members can offer services to others. It is planned to be
ready for next month and registration email to follow.

ü  Check out the club website for the Glennie Awards results

ü  Join us in May for competition night.

ü  Your ideas and suggestions are always welcome
