        Hi John,

It is a beautiful area however, it is a long drive from here. It took 7 hours with meal and gas breaks.
I would love to go again but a little too far to go at such late notice.

This is where Tom Thompson painted Jack Pine.

            Hi John,

I just returned from a camping trip in this part of the park. How coincidental.

            Judy

Ontario camera clubs:

Please share this upcoming photo excursion with your members.

An intense, adventurous and fun 30-hour trip to the northeast corner of Algonquin Provincial Park is planned for August 24 - 25. The cost is $49 plus tax, park entry fee (shared), transportation, plus your room and board for a night ($57 is the cheapest I found for 2 people) or camping.

The attractions include a deep canyon and rocky lakeshore made famous by the Group Of Seven painter Tom Thomson and his painting "The Jack Pine". The walks are easy and the road into the park is very good.

Details and sample photos that I took on a similar one-day tour:

...along with images from other outings past and plans for the future if you can join us.
