Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying your hot summer and still being able to get out and take pictures.  Attached is some information regarding Orillia Cultural days and promoting artists, clubs and organizations. Registrations are required no later than August 22. Thought I would throw this out there to see if anyone was interested in taking the lead to register the camera club, organizing a small group to put together an event to showcase the Orillia and District Camera Club. If you are please let me know by Aug 1.

This September, the City of Orillia is looking to join the national Culture Days initiative with a city-wide celebration of the arts.  Launched in 2010, Culture Days represents the largest ever collective public participation campaign undertaken by the arts and cultural community in Canada.  Locally, the event gives residents and visitors a chance to discover and experience all aspects of our own culture, from agriculture to visual arts, performing arts, heritage conservation, culinary arts, literary arts, design, music, film and so much more. 

 

As a stakeholder, Culture Days is a great opportunity for you or your organization to create awareness of upcoming workshops, festivals, performances and products while, at the same time, work collaboratively with other artists to strengthen the city’s cultural sector.
