[Members] Orillia District Camera Club Meeting Wednesday May 8/13

Hello all. 

For those of you that were not able to attend last night's meeting, I just
wanted to keep you up to date.

Peter Gallagher  facilitated  the competition picture review and results to
the group . Excellent photographs presented by members. Scores and judges
feedback were presented for each photograph. Peter also provided some
excellent value added critiques and additional ideas in considering other
options as well as engaging  the room to also comment. Very valuable session
for everyone.  We will be mentioning all this year's competition winners at
the AGM June 12th meeting. Great job done by all.

 

Announcements

May 18th, 1-4pm - Aspen Wildlife Reserve, Photography Event. Free Admission,
Donations appreciated, Photography Tips and Tricks presentation with Debbie
Bradley from 1:30-2:30.  www.aspenvalley.ca

 

May 25th,   Wildflower Outing at Ed Glanert property. Due to some unforeseen
circumstances this outing had to be cancelled.

 

June Outing - Tree Art Museum Gravenhurst. Judy Hardy will be arranging and
outing mid to end of June. Stay tuned for more information.

 

June 1st & 2nd  Cardin Nature Festival. Lots of flower, landscape, birds of
prey and workshop opportunities. This year's focus will be Birds in Flight
with David Heming's offering a full day workshop. Check it out at

June 12 -  Club Meeting. This meeting will be our last until September. We
hope to have a wrap up BBQ at the helping hands meeting room. Stay tuned for
more information. 

 

The current Club Executive have all volunteered to stay on for 1 more year.
We are always looking for others to volunteer to help the executive where
they can and consider being part of the executive at some point. Let me know
if you would like to volunteer some of your time to help by sending me an
email.

 

I now have 2 volunteers who want to gain some judging experience and help
the Oro Horticultural Club implement horticultural subject photo
competitions. Would love to have 2 more people to join us. We can learn
together, meet other people and learn some things about gardening. Likely
not more than 1 evening a month for June, July, Aug and September. Depending
on the number of entries perhaps 2-3 evenings between Oct 20 to Dec 1. .
