Good afternoon. I am forwarding on information on an upcoming Portfolio Review opportunity, November 9 and 10 in Kitchener.

FOTO WEEKEND 2013’s portfolio reviews will be conducted by top industry professionals, including Shirley Madill, Executive Director at the Kitchener and Waterloo Art Gallery, Sabrina Maltese of the Contact Festival and Karl Griffiths-Fulton, photographer and Fine Arts faculty at the University of Waterloo. 

Reviews are suited for established and emerging photographers, this is an exciting opportunity – whether your work is at an advanced stage of development or you are looking for guidance on conceptual approaches or career development advice. For more information on the portfolio review click here.

A reception will also be held with a brief talk from an accomplished photographer and a chance for photographers and photo lovers to meet and share their ideas on building a community for photographic arts in our region.

Foto:RE began in 2011 as a collective of six photographers. It has grown to include other professional and amateur photographers from all corners of North America and the world. Focused on the artistic quality of photographic arts, Foto:RE supports and connects photographers and fosters an understanding and appreciation of photography through exhibitions, education, and other programming. Foto:RE also links artists with their communities by facilitating projects that help drive social change.

The registration fee for portfolio reviews is $180 (early bird pricing of $160) which includes four reviews of 20 minutes each. Participation also includes a year of preferred rates for Foto:RE events and activities, including technical and creative workshops, salons, and critique sessions. Student rates are also available.
