Weekend retreats are listed separately on www.philnorton.net/photography_retreats . Last year our trips included Montreal, Algonquin Park, and a rustic retreat near Bon Echo Park.

On May 2 - 4 we still have room for a few participants for the waterfalls tour around Hamilton. And planning is underway for an Adirondack Mountains (NY) trip this summer. For mid-May there will be two 2-day birding outings along this unique migration route of Prince Edward County (details below).

Wednesday, April 16 - See a meteor crater in our own backyard....2 and a half kilometers wide depression in the land with a historic plaque. En route in Yarker we will see the rushing Napanee River waterfalls in town and stroll the Cataraqui Trail over the river. Then north to the crater. See the photos of this area by clicking the link below, but we won't have time to go to Gould Lake Conservation on this trip. I'm sure there will be a stop for coffee and tea. Leave Picton at 10 a.m. or meet us at the Flying J in Napanee at 10:30; back by 3:00. Please RSVP if you can come along. http://www.philnorton.net/yarker

Saturday, April 19 - Float Your Fanny Down The Ganny annual boat and raft and bathtub race and festival in Port Hope. If we get enough people we will make this day trip to see the crazy people having fun in the rapids, and we will visit the picturesque Loyalist town too. There is also a fish ladder on the river that allows spawning fish to swim over the dam.

A special post-shooting invitation from our friend, master photographer Allan Short at his home / studio in Grafton for cookies, muffins and hot drinks. If you don't know Mr. Short, meeting him is worth the price of admission : ) Seriously!

Leaving Picton 8 a.m. Please let me know IMMEDIATELY if you would like to go.....rain or shine! So far I have Cheryl, Val and Marilyn confirmed.

There are still a couple of spots left on our weekend waterfalls workshop at a retreat centre in Ancaster, Ontario May 2 - 4. Total cost including meals and private room is under $350. I found another weekend waterfalls tour being offered in the Hamilton area, all-inclusive for $1,600. Take your pick!

Another two-part birding marathon has been added to the May schedule. Thursday 15th evening 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. - Friday 16th morning 8:00 a.m. to noon $30 for the two days....and again on Friday 16th evening and Saturday 17th morning.
