SPECIAL ROAD TRIP WITH COUNTY OUTINGS
Wednesday, June 18th.
Join us for a full day of travel photography beyond County and Quinte borders. Hoping to attract participants equally from Ontario and Quebec....with a meeting place in the middle....about a 2-hour drive each.
Leaving Picton 8:30 a.m....meet our Trenton and Belleville folks at the Park 'n Ride at Highways 401 and 49 exit 9:00, then Kingston area photographers at 9:45 along the 401....then to Heather's farm in Spencerville around 11:00 for shooting and lunching. Bring something to share at the potluck meal. Returning to Picton after supper-time.
For regulars, the cost is $20 plus gas sharing.....$25 for first-time participants.
From Quebec, take the 401 then north to Spencerville.....directions to the farm will be sent out to confirmed participants. You may wish to follow Route 2 heading east toward home passing Upper Canada Village and public historic sites of the War of 1812.
Heather's farm has a variety of critters, including newly-hatched turkeys.... as well as an old stone mill nearby.
Photos posted on Facebook include some scenes along Highway 2, the heritage route that we will visit after the farm and on the way back to Picton. We will stop at my friend's photo / art gallery and antique bookshop on Main Street in Brockville. Owner Gordon Beck was a lifelong photographer at The Montreal Gazette. He renovated an old stone 3 story factory in this picturesque town.

Since Heather has been on our outings and shooting with a 2 1/4 film twin lens reflex camera, please consider bringing along your own film cameras for this outing. In the digital age when we tend to shoot hundreds of pictures and edit later, it may be nice to take your time, think before you shoot and treat each click with care.
Please let me know where you will meet us...RSVP.
Send an email if you would like your name added to the regular twice-a-week Eblast newsletter about upcoming outings and weekend retreats. Keep an eye on the County Outings & Workshops website: www.countyoutings.com or "Like" us on Facebook:www.facebook.com/countyoutings
