Betreff: ISS over Ontario at 6:50pm
Hi,
The sky is looking very good right now so I looked to see if there was anything
extra to add on to those interested in the partial solar eclipse - ANF THERE IS!
The ISS will cross the northern sky from 6:50pm (18:50) from WNW (330 degreesAZ)
through the bowl of the Big Dipper about 6:53pm (18:53), under the pole star at
6:54pm (18:54), Cass, and very close to M31 just before 18:56 not quite in the NE,
so looking north from left to right and brighter than any star or planet at that time.
The ISS enters the earth's shadow at 18:57:56 due east.
And as an extra extra there is at least one Iridium flare visible going though the
Zenith - straight up - from south to north but flaring in thje north above and to the
RIGHT of the pole star to the left of the " W " of Cass but at that elevation at 19:14:35
and VERY BRIGHT -6.3 for us in Orillia, not quite so bright for Barrie or Uxbridge but
doing quite well for Wellandport.
So be safe, wrap up warmly. If you do take photos use a tripod and take off the
"anit-shake" function. Good luck - Bill
