Even if I do say so myself, we had another great meeting last Wednesday.  Thanks to all that came out to listen, learn. laugh and support the club.
As promised, here is a summary of the highlights.

We started the evening with an amazing monthly video comprised of your images and produced by John Wynn.  In case you have not seen it yet, you are in for a treat and here is the link:

New Developments

1)  Fashion Show – On April 19 June Gunn and I have volunteered to photograph the 50th Annual Daffodil Fashion Show.  It is a fundraising event hosted by the Canadian Cancer Society and we will be recognized as contributors in the program as well as during the announcements.  This will help to bring awareness of the ODCC.
2)  Focus on Simcoe Photography Festival.  Another way to showcase our club would be to participate in the above event.  It would mean finding a venue to host our images and paying a $300 fee.  We are not able to participate this year due to the cost and short time frame but it might be something to consider for next year.  Here is the link to their site.

Monthly Challenge

Following the updates, we moved on to the review of the monthly challenge submissions.  I guess that I made the challenge too challenging as only five members submitted images.  However, the willing participants had fun and pushed their personal boundaries to a new level.

Monthly Spotlight

Peter Gallagher (our webmaster) then gave an informative and well-received presentation on various free software applications available on the internet.  He will send a link to his presentation in a separate email.  Thank you, Peter.
Afterwards, Peter went on to assign the new monthly challenge.  He would still like you to think about and utilize your knowledge of the Exposure Triangle when taking your new shots.  Simply, your images can be of anything anywhere on or from your property.  Bonus marks will be given to anyone that uses a software package to edit and then submit a before and after image.  We are not looking for sophisticated Photoshop edits but simply cropping, improving highlights, shadows, exposure, contrast, etc.  As previously, you will have to explain what drew you to the image and what challenges you faced.

See the presentation and have access to all the links.

With all of the questions and comments during the evening, we ran overtime and had to skip the wrap-up before the authorities came to kick us out.
