There will be a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, the last for North America until 2044. It will not be total in Orillia but is total in Hamilton and Niagara Falls to the west and Picton, Kingston, Belleville and Brockville to the east.

Hamilton is the closest, 185 km and 2 hours.

You can also buy eclipse glasses from Amazon. If you have kids or grandkids, they might have fun making a pin-hole camera out of a cereal box.
