Hello all. We had a great meeting and time with Ian McIntosh at our recent
meeting and enjoyed his presentation on abstract photography. For those of
you who would like to learn more about transforming the world around you
into abstract art through your camera read on to find out more about Ian's
March workshop. If you are interested get in touch directly with Ian. For
those of you that can't make this one, the executive will be pursuing a
workshop in Orillia toward the end of April or early May.

Abstract Photography Workshop

with

Ian McIntosh

Saturday, March 8, 2-6 PM

Soul Studio | 40 Bell Farm Road, Unit 8

In the Abstract Photography Workshop, you will learn techniques on how to
transform the world around you into new, exciting images.

Breaking the bonds of tack sharp, mega-pixelated workflow, you will learn
how "out-of-focus" can help sharpen the mind's eye, giving you a new
perspective on what and how you see.

Who is this for?

. This workshop is intended for photographers who want to add
extended techniques to your artistic quiver.

. You already have a solid understanding of the basic functions of
your camera, and are comfortable using manual and semi-automatic modes.

. Many of the techniques in the workshop require you to manually
focus and zoom while the shutter is open.

What will you learn?

. How to use Zooming, Focus Pulling and intentional camera movement
(ICM) to create beautiful effects and abstract imagery.

. Go past basic, radial and swirl images.

. Choosing Subjects.

. How to set up the camera to properly create abstract images with
light, found glass & fire subjects.

What should you bring?

. Camera which can be set in manual and semi-automatic modes

. Empty memory card(s) and fully charged battery.

. Zoom and prime lenses. If you have a macro lens, please bring that
as well.

. Tripod.

. A cushion to protect your lens when camera tossing (joking. we
won't be doing that).

$50 per person.

This hands-on workshop is limited to 8 participants to ensure individual
attention.
